The Amateur Winemakers of Canada (AWC) was founded in 1971 as a national coordinating body for provincial amateur winemaking organizations. The principal activity of the AWC is an annual National Competition for amateur winemakers affiliated with its Provincial Member Organizations. Congratulations to the 2017 AWC Grand Champion Winemaker: Don Graham from the Nanaimo Winemakers Club. Don received 5 Gold and 1 Silver medal to claim the championship.

2017 Grand Champion Winemaker – Amateur Winemaker’s of Canada

Another Nanaimo Winemaker – Don Holmes – was awarded a Gold Medal for his Siegerrebe, Pinot Blend from his own Holmes Hobby Vineyard.

There are many other BCAWA club members who received medal and merit recognotion as well.
