July 16th, Nanaimo Winemakers will once again host their Summer Social Competition, BBQ and sausage making event open to club members and their guests. The event organizer and coordinator is Cindy Scott who has added a new twist this year. This year’s BBQ, will feature a bit of fun – blind tasting/judging of member’s wines.

The usual sharing table will be replaced with “The Summer Social Winemaker Competition” table. Wines that have been entered will be set out on the competition table. This will be a blind tasting with no winemaker identification on the bottles. You may taste one, two or all wines – the choice is yours. Everyone attending the BBQ will receive ONE ballot to vote for their favorite wine. Ballots will be tallied at 5:30 pm and the winner announced. The new Summer Social trophy will be awarded.
