The Nanaimo Winemakers is once again hosting a varietal competition, thanks to the hard work and enthusiasm of our Chief Steward, Doug Markin. This will be followed by an Evening Social and Awards Ceremony in the competent hands of organizer Cindy Scott. The date for this event is March 4th and it will be held at the Cavallotti Lodge in Nanaimo.
Here is a synopsis of how the day will run:
* 9:00 am – 1:30 pm: Judging of the various flights of wines (2 judges and 1 steward per judging table)
* 6:00 pm: Arrival for evening social, catered appetizers and tasting of award winning wines
* 7:30 pm: Awarding of metals and trophies
* 8:00 pm: Franco’s auction
* 8:30 pm: Desert, tea, and coffee — close of silent auction
* 9:00 pm: End of event
This is an exciting time for us wine enthusiasts – a chance to have our wines assessed by qualified judges, to gain feedback on our efforts, and share our best with peers and friends.
